HOW TO INSTALL WINDOWS XP SP3

Installing Windows XP is easy if you read and follow instructions during installation. But to make it more easier we need guidance and visual to totally understand it.
If it is your first time to install Windows XP, just follow this simple steps. Let us say you are installing on a desktop.

First, turn on your computer. While the computer is booting, tap the DEL button on your keyboard to go to the BIOS setup. I am using an IBM laptop as a sample as you can see on the picture below. Now go to the boot option by using the right arrow key and first boot your CD or DVD ROM drive. After first booting your CD or DVD ROM drive, exit and save changes.

I'm sorry if the picture is blurred because I am only using a cellphone.

Now your computer will restart. As your computer is rebooting, insert your Windows XP CD.
After booting it will display "Press any key to boot from CD ". You have to press any key within five seconds. See picture below.

Note: You only have to press any key once during the installation.

After pressing any key, a windows installation screen will appear. See picture below.

Now after the setup is finished copying files, a new window will appear stating three options. See picture below.

There are three options here.
1. To set up Windows XP on the selected item, press Enter.
2. To create a partition in the unpartitioned space, press C.
3. To delete the selected partition, press D.

Since this is your first time installation, the unpartitioned space should display as default. Now you should select option 2 to create a partition by pressing C.
After pressing C, the system will analyze your hard disk capacity.

Now this time you will select option 1 to install Windows XP by pressing Enter.
This time you are now going to format your hard disk. Select the options using the arrow key.

The system now will format your hard disk.

After the formatting is finished, the system will restart and a new screen will appear.

After sometime, a dialog box will appear. Type a name for it and click next.

Type a name here or just click next.

Now here adjust the time and date and the time zone using arrow keys and click next.

After this, the installation will continue. After the installation is finished, it will restart.
After booting up, a new screen will appear. Just click next.

This time choose the second option and click next.

Here just click SKIP.

Choose the second option and click next.

Type a name here and click next.
The name you typed here will appear when you open "My Computer".

After clicking next this window will appear.

Now you can start configuring the settings of your new installed Windows XP to whatever you like.

That's all for it right now. See you next post...
