MEQUE: With one horizontal white line:
My sister in law's mother sent me her 14 inches MEQUE television and the complaint was one horizontal white line. To confirm this, i plug the set and turned it on and I see it.
I unplug the set and open it by removing 7 screws. I flipped the the TV so that the PCB board is facing me.
Since it has one horizontal line, I already assumed that the power supply is working fine. So I go directly to the vertical section. This TV is using LA78040B vertical IC. According to the datasheet, pin 2 is the VCC supply. I traced back the supply and I see that it get its supply from the secondary circuit not from the flyback. So I took my DMM meter and measured the voltage of the VCC supply and I got 24 volts DC and shows that the supply is OK. By the way, I clipped my black probe with a crocodile clip to the CRT ground and the red probe to the VCC supply. I scanned around the vertical circuit and everything looks fine. So I directly replaced the vertical IC and after that I plugged it to the oultlet and turned it on.
I've said a big YESSS! When the set gets back to normal operation...
